After a Suicide

If you have lost a friend or loved one to suicide, you may find yourself in need of extra support. The grief following such a death is complicated: you may experience anger, guilt, sorrow, regret, resentment, relief, and more. In smaller or tightly knit communities, the effects of a suicide death can have a ripple effect, touching many individuals, known as loss survivors.

You may find it helpful to seek support through attending self-help groups of individuals who have experienced similar loss, reading appropriate materials, therapeutic relationships, or by becoming active in suicide prevention organizations.
