If you or someone you care about is in crisis and needs immediate help, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-8255 or 988. The phone lines are answered by trained professionals; the call is free and confidential. If you need to be connected to mental health services in Riverside County, call the Helpline at (951) 686-HELP. If emergency medical care is needed, call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital.

  • Inland SoCal Crisis Helpline: Phone: (951) 686-HELP (4357)
    The regional Inland Southern California Crisis and Suicide Helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The phone lines are answered by trained professionals and the call is free and confidential. You can also dial 2-1-1 to be connected with a variety of resources in Riverside County.
  • CARES Line (24/7): (800) 499-3008 The Community Access, Referral, Evaluation and Support line (CARES Line) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides screening and linkage to both Mental Health and Substance Use programs.  Calls are answered by compassionate trained staff who can provide information and referral in English and Spanish.
  • Riverside University Health System – Behavioral Health This website provides information about mental health and substance use services provided for children, adults and older adults.  A comprehensive service directory lists services for the Desert, Mid-County and Western Regions, as well as crisis lines.
    • Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) – These services are designed to prevent the development of mental illness by reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors. Visit the website to find out more about PEI services, free trainings for the community, register for PEI events and presentations, read PEI Newsletters, and connect with PEI.
  • Riverside Network of Care for Behavioral Health A resource for individuals, families and agencies looking for mental health resources and information in Riverside County. The site includes information on local services, legislation, support and related news among other features.
  • HomeConnect: Phone: (800) 498-8847 Provides housing and homeless resources and assistance in Riverside County.
  • ConnectIE: This website is a tool that allows community members to easily find local services using their city or zip code. ConnectIE offers resources and programs to the public that are free or low-cost, like housing, food, health care, job training, public transit, and more.
  • NAMI Western Riverside County Phone: (951) 369-1913 Provides support and referral services to people in need in the cities of Riverside, Moreno Valley, Corona, Norco and the Jurupa Valley/Rubidoux area.
  • NAMI Temecula Valley Phone: (951) 672-2089 NAMI Temecula Valley is a grassroots organization dedicated to improvement of life for those afflicted with mental illness and their loved ones.
  • NAMI Coachella Valley  Phone: (442) 268-7000 Provides support and referral services to people in need in the cities of Banning, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Coachella, Salton Sea
  • NAMI Mt. San Jacinto  Phone: (951) 765-1850 Provides leadership in advocacy, legislation, policy development, education and support throughout the Hemet, San Jacinto Valley, Mid County Region in Riverside County and the Inland Empire.
  • Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) They are a peer-facilitated support group of people who support one another on the road to wellness. They include those diagnosed with mood disorders, their families and friends, and anyone else who seeks to learn more about depressive and bipolar mood (affective) disorders.

    Friday Night Live is a youth oriented program catered to young people in the Riverside area. This organization provides activities and entertainment that promote an anti-drug, anti-drinking message to youth in the community.

  • First 5 Riverside County operates the Family Resource Centers in partnership with the Department of Public Social Services. These centers provide direct services and service referrals to strengthen the success and well-being of families and communities in Riverside County.
  • What’s Up Safehouse is a 24/7, free, anonymous mental health crisis texting line. Get immediate support from a licensed mental health professional.  Dedicated to helping support the residents of Riverside County through issues surrounding anxiety, substance abuse, depression, school pressure, peer pressure, LGBTQ struggles, relational issues, suicidal thoughts, bullying, and any other issue that is causing trouble.

  • TakemyHand™ Live Peer Chat is an innovative technology solution born from the Help@Hand Riverside Program. It is a Peer-to-Peer live chat interface using the internet, where Live Peer Operators engage with community members in real-time conversations about emotional wellness and help chat visitors build resiliency when life is difficult. TakemyHand™ utilizes the practice of mutual Peer-to-Peer supportive relationships that are welcoming and inclusive. The Peer Operators have lived experiences and are Certified Peer Support Specialists who explore the recovery process for those who may struggle with emotional difficulties and/or substance use challenges. TakemyHand™ Peer Chat Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Riverside County 24/7 Mental Health Urgent Care
    If you or someone close to you is experiencing troubling thoughts, feelings, or behaviors, and you would like to speak with someone today, call or walk into one of Riverside Counties 24/7 Mental Health Urgent Care locations anytime.  Someone who has been in your situation and knows how to help will be there to greet you. Whether you are in crisis or just need someone to talk to, all services are voluntary.  Counseling and nursing, as well as, psychiatric medications are available.
    All locations are open 24/7.  Call or walk-in.  No appointments needed.
